Hapitalist is devoted to helping creators turn chaos into money. A big part of focusing that chaos is taking small, focused steps each and every day...

...which is where this planner comes into play.

Money goes where energy flows, and energy flows where you direct it.

The easiest way to direct your energy is to control where you spend it...

...and the easiest way to know where you spend your energy is to write it down.

This planner is a small way, every day, to manage that direction.

The most important single action in Hapitalist is the 90-day audit, where we take stock of the last quarter, make goals for the next quarter, and track your progress every day.

This is the playbook for that audit.

How does it work?

The Hapitalist Quarterly Planner is a 90-day, spiral-bound, lay-flat planner for creators who are trying to make money without burning themselves to the ground doing it.

It is the physical version of the system inside our app. Every page in here exists because members used it on a screen and it worked...

...but many Hapitalists are paper people, and they do better with a singular object they can wrap their head around instead of a whole app.

It doesn't matter to us how you break through your biggest blocks. Whether it's tarot, or our app, or our blog, or or books, or our podcast, or our workbooks, we want to meet you where you are to get you where you want to go.

This is the version of Hapitalist that works best for planner people, but there is no best way to Hapitalist...

...just the way that works best for you.

It takes about an hour to set up, five minutes in the morning, five minutes at night, half an hour at the end of every week, and one honest sitting after day ninety.

Before day one

Before you get to the planner itself, we need to set everything up properly.

  • Clear the deck. List everything you actually do in a week along with the hours it takes. Then, answer two questions about each one: do you need it, and do you love it.
  • The Drain. Work you need and love doesn't cost anything. Work you neither need nor love costs double because it takes the hours and gives nothing back. The rest of your tasks cost the time it takes to do them. Multiply your hours by how much they drain you, add it up, and you get a number that is not the same as the hours you work. That gap is the drag.

  • The HAPI Compass. Six business directions (Heart, Audience, Prioritization, Income, Belief, and Embodiment) are scored 0 to 5. Your lowest one is likely your biggest real block, and that's where you should probably focus this quarter's work.
  • The One Move. One high-leverage thing you're working on for the next ninety days told in one sentence. Then, a quick premortem: it's day 90 and this failed...why? You write the answer down before it happens.

  • The Four Ps. Seven pillars hold up a creative business. You need one to focus on per quarter. Pick your pillar for the quarter, then your monetization platform, your product, and your discoverability pathway.

  • Following the money. Where it starts, and where it goes, month by month.

Every day

  • Morning. Your question for the day. Today's tarot pull (if you do it). Then the one thing you want to get done today, three moves that serve it, and your energy on waking up, 0 to 10.
  • Night. How it went, in your own words. Did you complete your 90Soft? These are six small tenets that help you with self care every day, including a walk, a photo, food, water, something read for fun, and rest. Energy left, 0 to 10, and one win. Finally, score the gap between the energy you woke up with and the energy you had left is what the day cost you. Across a week, those gaps show you which kind of day drains you and which doesn't.

Every week

  • Look back. What actually moved forward, what didn't, and why. This is where you decide what you should keep doing, and what you keep doing that you shouldn't.
  • Look forward. How you're feeling about your direction? What needs to shift and where should you double down?

Day 90

The 90-Day Audit is the most important single action in Hapitalist. It's where we open the books on what actually happened.

  • Was your reasoning sound, separately from how it turned out?
  • What worked, and must be protected from being dropped.
  • Kill, keep, or double down? With your reasoning and your expectation on the record, so that next quarter you can judge that decision and not just its outcome.
